How my journey began

My Story:

During my third year of teaching, I was a first-grade teacher. I was advised to take another student, a young African American boy in my class. Jack, the young boy cried, screamed, and yelled for two hours. We didn’t know what triggered or caused him to scream and cry for 2 hours, but that’s what he did.

Jack entered my class in October of 1994. He screamed and hollered for 2 hours. All I could do was pray after the school day. However, through my relationship with God and prayer, Jack’s screams minimized slowly. By December, he was screaming an hour and 45 minutes. January came and his screaming was down to 30 minutes, and by March, he was only screaming for 5 minutes. Only God could do that.
